Statistics:
- About 1 in 5 children int he U.S. have a learning disability ("Learning Disabilities", 2011)

- 45% of parents of children with a LD report their child being bullied in school (Morin, 2014)
- 91% of people know of dyslexia, but about 66% do not know about dyscalculia and dysgraphia (Morin, 2014)
- About 96% of people think that proper teacher can "make up" for having an LD (Morin, 2014)
- 66% of students diagnosed with an LD are boys. This is troubling because research shows that boys and girls are equally proven to have trouble reading which means girls may be getting diagnosed less frequently (Morin 2014)
- 33% of students with an LD are retained a grade level and 50% are expelled or suspended from school (Morin 2014).
- Almost two-thirds of people (63%) know someone with a learning disability. (Cortiella, 2014)
