Students with dyscalculia may exhibit a mixture of the following characteristics ("Dyscalculia..", 2002)
- Difficulty understanding and solving math word problems
- Struggles with handling money and making change
- Has difficulty sequencing events
- May be confused with time concepts
- Difficulty understanding fractions
- Struggles to understand math language and how it connects to operations
- Struggles with understanding place value
- Has difficulty recognizing number patterns/pictures
- Struggles with timed math assignments
- Trouble counting
- Poor comprehension of math symbols
