What causes dyscalculia?
Researchers have not been able to pinpoint exactly what causes dyscalculia, but the most common explanation has to do with how a person's brain is structured and how it functions. Abnormalities can be caused by both genetic and environmental factors. It is common for people that have dyscalculia to have other disorders/disabilities as well, but it is not a defining feature of the disability. (Wilson, 2012)
